BEST SMARTWATCHES 2021:

1.     Samsung Galaxy Watch 3: Best Choice for Android Users!

SPECS:

  • Display: 1.2 inches/1.4 inches
  • Colors: Mystic Bronze, Mystic White, and Mystic Black.
  • Storage: 8 GB
  • RAM: 1GB
  • Battery: 247 mAh/ 340 mAh
  • Durability: 5 ATM/ IP68
  • OS: Tizen 5.5
  • Starting Price: $399

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is a complete round face design watch that is quite identical to the Gear S3 Classic that Samsung released in 2016. It is slightly smaller and lighter as compared to the Galaxy Watch but, that clearly does not mean that it is a small watch. Those with small wrists might find the 41mm version too big to wear, however, if you like big-sized watches then this might do the trick.

It has a bright, vibrant display with a sharp resolution that can be used both indoors and outdoors, but the only issue we faced while testing it out is that it can be hard to see or check the time through polarized glasses. It also has a full-color display which makes it easy to read the time without having to touch the watch every time. Perhaps, the best feature of this Galaxy Watch 3 is its physically rotating bezel that is extremely easy to use and satisfying as well.

This model features stainless steel instead of aluminum, metal pushers instead of plastic ones, 5ATM Water resistance, a Gorilla Glass DX display, and an 810G mil Spec durability rating. Overall, the tolerances are tight, the buttons are quite satisfying, and the construction befits the Galaxy Watch 3’s higher price. According to some reports, an even more expensive titanium model will be launched by Samsung in the future.

An area where Samsung needs to improve a little bit is the vibration motor because unlike the Apple Watches, the Galaxy Watch 3’s vibrations are buzzy and can get annoying after a while when you get hourly calls and messages. Samsung smartphones have gotten much better over the recent years and we are truly hoping that they will bring that system to the wearables as well.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is much and convenient to use. It claims to have a battery life that can last up to ‘2 days’, but in our tests, it was just kicking the bucket around a day or a half if it was a particularly active day. If you want to make the battery life last a little longer, disable the always-on display mode and enable battery-saving modes that’ll dumb down the features, however, doing that also defeats the purpose of wearing a smartwatch in the first place. Overall, you’ll need to charge the Watch 3 every day or so, which makes it hard to use as a sleep tracker since the most convenient time to charge a smartwatch is when you are sleeping.

PROS:

  • Easy-to-use Interface.
  • Rotating bezel control is present.
  • Fast performance
  • Works great with Android
  • Delightful display

Cons:

  • Bixby remains to be the worst voice assistant
  • App selection is poor
  • Their ‘Slimmer’ design is still chunky and large
  • Fitness tracking features are still dire

2.     Amazfit GTS 2: A budget-friendly Smartwatch!

SPECS:

  • Display Resolution: 348 x 442
  • Colors: Dolphin Grey, Obsidian Black, Streamer Gold
  • Storage: 3 GB
  • Bluetooth Version: 5.0
  • Battery Life: 7 days
  • Durability: 5 ATM water-resistance
  • Compatible Devices: Android and IOS

The Amazfit GTS 2 is another budget-friendly, fitness-focused smartwatch from the Chinese wearable brand named Huami. This model features a decent tracking system, a durable build, an impressive battery life that claims to last up to 7 days straight. Though, its software still remains to be its weak spot, with a clunky interface and limited and awkward compatibility with apps, and tracking options. Its low price tag makes it a great option for all those buyers who are on a budget, but with the Apple Watch Series 3 now only for $199, the competition is quite stiffer than it once used to be.

One thing you should know is that the GTS 2 looks very similar to the Apple Watch, which of course is not a bad thing if you are looking for a slim and sleek design. The watch body is rectangular, with a crown button on the right-hand edge. However, if you prefer a circular design more, then you could always look for the GTR 2, which for the most part offers similar functions, but with a circular face.

Thanks to the plastic frame, Amazfit GTS 2 is very lightweight, as the main body is merely 14.5g. It does not feel cheap and is still so slim and light, meaning it won’t bother you to wear all day, unlike some bulkier fitness watches you may find in the market.

As you would expect from a sports smartwatch, the GTS 2 is also 5ATM water resistance. During our testing, we didn’t take it swimming but it survived plenty of showers so we are not worried about its durability when wet at all. Amazfit has nailed it with the design and body, and we can see where the inspiration came from.

The GTS 2 can track your heart-beat 24/7, SpO2, stress, and sleep, along with some usual activity tracking like step counts and movement. Heart-rate monitoring on this watch is passive, so it can easily count your highs and lows throughout the day. Sleep is also tracked by default and will tell you how many hours have you slept, and can give you an overall quality score. GTS 2 will even give you a stress score between the figures of 0 to 100, and will recommend you to calm down if your stress level is higher than average. Not bad for a budget device, right?

PROS:

  • Stress and spO2 monitoring
  • Slim and sleek design
  • 7-day Battery Life
  • Affordable
  • Can track heart-rate 24/7

CONS:

  • Limited Compatibility with Apps
  • No-third party support available
  • Chunky interface

3.     T500 Smart Watch:

SPECS:

  • Design: Rectangular
  • Colors: Black, Silver, and Gold
  • Internal Storage: 128 MN
  • Bluetooth Version: 4.0
  • Battery Life: 230mAh with several days of standby time.
  • Durability: IP67 Waterproof
  • Charging: Magnetic Charging Base
  • Compatible Devices: Android and IOS

As you can see in the image of this smartwatch given above, the all-new T500 watch comes with a square dial that is quite similar to the Apple Watch 6. It features a stylish, sleek, and fashion-forward design that is suitable for both men and women. This model especially is very popular among smartwatch fans as an Apple lookalike wearable.

T500 Smartwatch comes with a curved edge glossy zinc alloy body with a single crown button present on the side. It is sporty, lightweight, and comes with a sporty silicon strap or nylon design. Overall, this wearable has an IP67 water-resistant rating and it is splash-proof, rain-proof, as well as dust-proof.

This smartwatch has a high-definition 1.54 inch IPS LCD, with 240 x 240 pixel resolution display. It features a sharp, vivid graphic display that is completely touch screen. The screen of the watch is protected by a 2.5 D tempered glass that goes all the way to the side of the screen, showing a very slim bezel. The T500 Smartwatch has a g-sensor, heart-rate monitoring system, and a blood pressure monitor too.

The wearable has Bluetooth 4.0 compatibility with Android 5.0 and above and IOS 9.0 and above. T500 features a variety of colorful watch faces, sports mode-tracking- running, table tennis, basketball, badminton, climbing, and cycling. It can also count your daily steps and has a built-in calorie counter too. It will provide you with call and message notifications, has Bluetooth call support, short message reminder, social app reminders- WeChat, QQ, WhatsApp, Twitter, and Facebook. There is Bluetooth Music available as well, sedentary reminder, find a cellphone feature and, shake to take a photo feature.

PROS:

  • Delightful design
  • Large screen display
  • Bluetooth Call
  • Multi watch faces
  • 4 kinds of health monitoring available
  • Thermometer

CONS:

  • Not suitable for Swimming
  • No GPS

4.     Huawei Watch GT2 PRO: A Premium Design!

SPECS:

  • Display Resolution: 454 x 454 HD
  • Weight: 52 g
  • Colors: Night black, Nebula Gray
  • Storage: 4 GB
  • Bluetooth Version: 5.1 BLE/ BR/ EDR
  • Battery Life: 14 days for typical use
  • Durability: 5 ATM water-resistance
  • Charging: Wireless charging port
  • Compatible: Android 5.0 or above, IOS 9.0 or above

There is no denying that there are plenty of similarities between the previous Huawei GT 2 and the new pro version, however, Huawei has graced this model with some upgrades and a premium new design with a higher price tag to match.

The Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro offers a strong fitness and sports set for all fitness lovers. It also boasts a titanium case with sapphire glass and a ceramic back that gives the smartwatch a premium effect, which most of you won’t be used to seeing from the affordable end of the market. This model joins the Oppo Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, Fitbit Sense, and the Apple Watch Series when it comes to smartwatches offering premium designs and big features.

This smartwatch offers its users some pretty rich features, but some omissions from what you’ll see on the Apple Watch or other mainstream competitors. It will even display the notifications from your smartphone; if your phone has an Android OS then you can easily take calls right from the comfort of your wrist. The GT 2 Pro has a pretty loud built-in speaker, and it can show call records as well.

It’s a fitness tracker that can monitor sleep, has GPS, and supports over 100 sports. It can play stored music, and will act as a controller for music played from your phone. You can see your fitness progress with this incredible fitness tracker too.

Stress is something that can creep over every now and then, and we like that the Huawei GT 2 Pro lets you monitor your stress levels over months. Other than that, you can check your average walking speed, stride length, step count, elevation gain, and count your daily calories.

The company claims that the battery life of this model is 14 days on a single charge; however, we found less in our testing. We noticed a drop of 12% with a normal use per day, so it is around nine days of battery life (which in our opinion is not bad at all). Huawei GT 2 Pro takes approximately 3 hours to fully charge.

PROS:

  • Premium Design
  • 10 to 14 Days long Battery life
  • Qi wireless charging
  • Outdoor Assistant onboard
  • Boosted Heart-Rate Monitor
  • Smooth interface
  • Intensive activity tracking

Cons:

  • Notifications aren’t quite interactive
  • Limited smarts
  • No third-party support available
  • Aging internals

Each of the smartwatch color versions is tag with corresponding cod names that start with the letter Q, and are followed by numeric numbers. The body of this smartwatch is available in Black, Silver, and Gold color.

As expected from Oozoo smartwatches, this one also features a stylish sporty look with a plain bezel, and a minimalistic metal body. The overall body of this wearable has an IP67 waterproof rating, which means that it is waterproof, splash-proof, and even dust-proof.

With regards to its display, the Oozoo smartwatch has a 43 mm dial/ screen with a touch-button key operation. This model has a circular design; however, the screen display is rectangular which some might find a bit disappointing.

Just like the advanced smartwatches available in the market these days, this model is also packed with health functions. It features a heart rate monitor and is loaded with sensors that can track your vitals in real-time 24/7. The additional health features include a sleep monitoring tracker that will monitor your sleeping patterns, count the number of hours you have slept, the deep and light sleep, and the time you wake up.

If you are into sports then you’ll be glad to know that this smartwatch supports multi-sports modes. It even comes with an automatic step counter as well as a calorie counter. Oozoo Smartwatch supports notifications, SMS messages, calls as well as social media app notifications. It can also support Bluetooth Music Control and alarms. It claims to have a battery life of around 6 to 8 days in just a single charge.

PROS:

  • Fashionable and sporty look

6.     Realme Smartwatch: Great for Fitness Tracking!

SPECS:

  • Display Resolution: 320 x 320 pixel resolution
  • Weight: 31 g
  • Build: Gorilla Glass 3, plastic frame and back
  • Colors: Black
  • Bluetooth Version: 5.0, A2DP, LE
  • Battery life: 7-9 days
  • Battery: 160 mAh
  • Durability: IP68 water-resistance rating
  • Compatible: Android, IOS

Realme debuted as a smartphone company back in 2018 but as we can all see, it is quickly expanding its ecosystem. The Realme Watch has a minimalistic design that looks similar to the Apple Watch Series. It has a glossy finish and you’ll see a multi-functional physical button with a gold accent on the right side of the watch. It features decent feedback and can be used to turn on/off the screen, power on/off the watch, or even go back. However, that button makes some noises when pressed and this factor mad us question its durability while testing.

One advantage of this smartwatch is that it only weighs 31 g, which makes it ideal for wearing at night as a sleep monitor. The detachable silicone straps are also quite durable and comfortable to wear. The straps are available in multiple colors like black, red, blue, and green, and offers two design types i.e. Classic and Fashion.

As the Realme Smartwatch is IP68 certified, you can easily take it in the shower with you and even wear it while swimming. However, this wearable doesn’t track swimming so you won’t be able to get any data about your performance while you swim.

Around the back of the watch, you will find the charging pins, PPG optical heart rate monitor, and a SpO2 sensor. Now, talking about the brightness and the display, you should know that, unlike the Realme Band, this smartwatch does not support an automatic Night Brightness Setting so you’ll have to manually reduce the brightness at night and then increase it when you step out during the day.

The Realme Smartwatch currently supports a total of 12 watch faces by default, one displaying the steps, weather, date & time, heart rate, and calories. If you swipe up on the home screen, you will see different options including workout, Heart Rate, Activity Records, Music, Sleep Monitoring, Stopwatch, Alarm, Meditation, Find My Phone, Camera, Raise to Wake, Do Not Disturb, Time format, display brightness, and the vibration intensity.

The Realme Smartwatch is slightly more expensive but the number of features and the sleek design it is offering within the price tag is quite impressive too. It also features the weather forecast, music control, real-time heart-rate monitor, drink reminder, step counter, multiple sports modes, and Smart notifications.

The Realme brand claims that the battery life of this smartwatch can last up to 9 days without the heart rate monitor, and seven days with it. However, in our testing, it only lasted for about 4 days on an average level of display brightness.

PROS:

  • Comfortable to wear
  • Reliable fitness tracker
  • Accurate Heart-rate readings
  • Good battery life
  • User-friendly interface
  • SpO2 sensor
  • Connected GPS

CONS:

  • Screen responsiveness
  • Ambitious battery life claims by the Company
  • Underwhelming sports tracking

7.     Haylou Solar Smartwatch:

SPECS:

  • Display Resolution: 240 x 240 pixels resolution
  • Weight: 54 g
  • Body: Metal frame, plastic back, and metal button
  • Bluetooth Version: 5.0 + BLE
  • Battery Life: 30 days for typical use ( 15 days with heart monitoring)
  • Durability: IP68 water-resistance rating
  • Compatible: Android, IOS
  • Misc: Ultra-low dynamic heart rate sensor, accelerometer

Haylou Solar Smartwatch is a great option if you are looking for a smartwatch that is easy on the pocket and big on features. It is really hard to believe that such good designs can be manufactured as low as $40. It is a lightweight watch (54g), which almost feels like you are wearing the Mi Band. The band is made of silicon that allows users to wear it for a long period comfortably, and even during heavy workouts without any discomfort.

It features 12 sport-modes guidance that helps the users get their wanted professional workout plans. My favorite feature has to be the basic step detection, as it can easily provide accurate step information with calorie consumption all day and distance covered. Thinking about the fitness and physical health of the buyers, it offers an in-built heart-rate sensor that can monitor heart rate for 24 hours. It even gives warnings or suggestions, which can be potentially life-saving as well.

In addition, like most of the smartwatches, you will find in the market, the Haylou Solar Smartwatch supports sleep management too and will tell you what’s going on with you throughout the night. However, many users did not find it comfortable to wear at night.

The battery life of Haylou Solar is good enough and can easily last for weeks. It features a 30-days standby. Even though this wearable doesn’t provide WIFI connectivity, it is overall a great pick for anyone who is seeking the same comfort as wearing a traditional watch.

PROS:

  • Bluetooth Compatibility
  • Always-on display feature
  • Budget-friendly
  • Long-lasting battery life
  • Snug fit
  • Comfortable to wear
  • Water-resistant, dust-proof, and splash-proof.

CONS:

  • Average design and looks

BoAt Storm Smartwatch features a fashionable sporty design and body with skin-friendly silicone straps. The stainless steel buckle gives this model that extra touch we loved. This wearable has a good water-resistance rating, which means that it is waterproof up to 50 meters. It is also dust-proof and splash-resistant.

Now talking about the display of this BoAt Storm Smartwatch, it has a display set up, having a 1.3 inches IPS LCD with 240 x 240-pixel resolution. It provides a bright, vivid, and sharp display that fully supports the touch screen operation and an intuitive IU.

The BoAt Storm Smartwatch is not only made for notifications but it is also packed with tons of superior sensors, such as a PPG optical heart rate sensor, check your oxygen-blood saturation level in real-time, as well as a Blood pressure monitor.

It supports Bluetooth v4.2 connectivity and a long battery life that lasts up to 10 days in a single charge at least. This factor depends completely on your usage though. It is fully compatible with both Android 5+ smartphones as well as the IOS devices, with support apps available on both platforms.

The BoAt Storm Smartwatch is marketed as a fitness and sports wearable, so no wonder why this model is packed with nine different sports modes. You’ll get yoga, running, walking, climbing, treadmill, biking, spinning, workout, and hiking. Some of the sport functions on this smartwatch are accompanied by step counters, calorie counter, and distance counter. With regards to the notification feature, it fully supports notifications of calls, SMS messages, social media applications like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and many more. However, you cannot directly call with the BoAt Storm Smartwatch, you can only receive the calls via the wearable. There are over 100 watch faces available for download.

PROS:

  • Unisex
  • Packed with nine different sports-modes
  • Supports notifications
  • Full touch screen display and intuitive UI
  • Light in weight
  • Stylish and Sporty design
  • Skin-friendly silicone straps

CONS:

  • No built-in GPS
  • You can’t call directly from the smartwatch (can only receive calls).

9.     Syska SW100 Smartwatch:

 SPECS:

  • Display: 1.3-inch TFT LCD
  • Weight: 31 g
  • Colors: Black, Rose Gold, Blue
  • Bluetooth: BLE 4.2
  • Battery Life: Up to 15 days
  • Battery: 210 mAh
  • Durability: IP68 Water-resistant
  • Rechargeable battery: Yes
  • Compatible: Android, IOS

The Syska SW-100 is ideal for anyone who is seeking a large screen wearable. Its design definitely draws some major attention. The Apple Smartwatch Series is a gold standard for smartwatch design and this is the reason why everyone tries to follow it. Syska pulls off a similar design to the Apple one, with a square dial accompanied by a curved frame. There are no buttons on the side or back of the display; all you get is a touch button that makes for a chunky bezel at the bottom and making the display look a little odd.

This wearable has a plastic body that is perfectly shaped to hide the optical sensor bulge present at the bottom. The straps are made of rubber and are quite comfortable on the wrists as well. Plus, the presence of the IP68 water resistance is a peace of mind too.

One of the main reasons why users buy this smartwatch is for fitness tracking. It comes with 11 different tracking modes, including walking, running, yoga, and more. All of these modes rely on the brilliant accelerometer on-device and the heart-rate sensor. During our testing, we noticed that the step count was fairly accurate and the time tracking as well.

There’s a breathing mode on the Syska SW-100 smartwatch that guides you to breathe calmly with a cute on-screen animation on top. The Syska Fitness App is easily available for both Android and IOS devices. This app is neatly laid out and allows users to get some few additional settings for the watch. The homepage of the watch shows a summary of all the activity data, heart, and sleep rate.

The sleeping tracker can often give false readings as well. For example, we kept this watch on a bed for an hour while eating and the Syska SW100 recorded it as sleeping. Even if you wear it at night, there are chances that it’ll give inaccurate data. Secondly, we found an issue with the notifications settings as well. This wearable can show notifcations from only a limited number of apps as well as third-party tools. Plus, there is no way to reply to a text via the smartwatch and it only shows one notification at a time.

Syska SW-100 Smartwatch promises a long battery life that lasts up to 15 days on a single charge if you turn on the heart rate tracking set. In our usage, it lasted for almost 2 weeks with regular outdoor walks and heart-rate tracking. So, it is safe to say that all of our team was fairly impressed with the long-lasting battery life.

PROS:

  • Affordable price
  • Long battery life
  • Great fitness tracking
  • Breathing Mode available
  • Fashionable design
  • Big display
  • Good user-interface

CONS:

  • Minimalistic UI
  • Only 4 watch faces available
  • Can only show notifications from limited apps.

Beginner’s Guide:

Let’s begin by asking what a smartwatch really is. It’s a smart device that people wear around their wrists that can give them notifications for things like calls, texts, and social media updates. We have put it that way, the obvious thing that makes this device stand out is that it tends to be an extension of your smartphone that you can wear around your wrists.

These smartwatches are capable of doing a lot more than just notifications. For example, they come with cellular connectivity that allows them to do some pretty impressive functions such as makeup calls and stream tracks independently of the phone.

Some of these watches also include heartbeat monitors, accelerometers, barometers, as well as can track your physical activity. If a smartphone comes with NFC technology, then you can easily make wireless payments using them.

Features of a Smartphone:

Whether a smartphone is made for everyday use or professional purposes, some features are pretty standard and can be found in almost all of them.

APPS:

Smartwatches support a lot of different applications too. This specifically depends on which Operating System (OS) your device is running on. The greatest app ecosystems today are the Apple and Google ecosystems. There are special-purpose smartwatches in the market as well that will generally support the apps, which can help them accomplish their purpose and often won’t allow the users to add other types of apps.

CHECKING THE NOTIFICATIONS:

The notification types can vary from watch to watch. Smartwatches alert the users with notifications, events, and important events frequently. They are connected to the phones, for example, the watches will typically mirror whatever your smartphone is already telling you. Others can give users the notifications that only smartwatches are able to provide.

Later-generation of the Apple Smartphone Line, for example, have a fall sensor feature whereby if you fall and the watch does not detect any movement, it will send you a notification that escalates and, if you don’t respond to that, the smartwatch will alert all those people you have listed, as well as the right authorities.

MEDIA:

Most smartwatches you will find in our list are paired to your phone such as you can use them to manage the media playback of your tracks. This means that you can change the track and volume when you’re listening to your favorite music on your smartphone just through your watch.

MESSAGE RESPONSE:

Do you remember when those old detectives often used to use their watch like it was a phone? Well, this is reminiscent of that as most advanced smartwatches allow their users to answer their messages through the voice dictation method. Some Apple Watches even come with a walkie-talkie feature that allows you to chat with the other Apple Watch wearers nearby.

FITNESS TRACKERS:

If you are someone that loves working out and is a fitness freak, then smartwatches are the ideal option for you. However, if all you need is a fitness tracker, then buying a smartwatch just for that purpose might be a bit of an overall.

Fitness trackers come with built-in heart monitors that use special sensors on the bottom of the watch to track your every pulse through your wrist and register your heartbeat accordingly. They also include other tracks such as gyro-meters, accelerometers, barometers, compasses, and others to help the people keep track of their movement and physical regime throughout the day.

The same goes for counting the number of steps one takes in a day. At any rate, many of these sensors are used for fitness tracking, and can also be used for general activity tracking. Fitness trackers have been available for quite some time now but their sales have decreased since the popularity of smartwatches grew. Smartwatches are considered more useful and are preferred by users more as compared to ordinary fitness watches.

The reason behind this is that smartwatches come with the functionality of a fitness tracker as well. With that being said, fitness trackers and watches are definitely cheaper and a niche as compared to smartwatches, so getting one of these might not be such a bad idea if all you need is a device to monitor your physical fitness.

GPS FUNCTIONALITY:

Modern Smartwatches include built-in GPS systems that allow the watches to track your live location for fitness purposes and can also give you the exact location alerts in seconds.

Things to consider when getting a Smartwatch:

If you want to extra sure, there are some shortcomings among these smartwatches. Some of them have short battery life, some have chargers that can be hard to use, while others can only pair to a particular set of smartphones. What are we supposed to look out for when going smartwatch shopping?

Well, this totally depends on your demands and interests. Here are some of the most important factors you should be careful of as you shop around for a smartwatch:

  1. Battery Life: A good smartwatch should go about for at least 24 hours on regular usage, depending on the type of tech used in the watch. Some of them can even last a whole week, while others have difficulty in lasting just a day.
  2. Compatibility: The smartwatch needs to be compatible with your phone or whatever device you want your watch to be connected with.
  3. Comfort: Make sure that the smartwatch you purchase feels comfortable around your wrist. Most models in the market are getting slimmer and lighter nowadays. However, there are still some old chunky and large ones that nobody wants to wear for a whole day.
  4. Water Resistance: The best Smartphones available in the market these days are all a bit resistant to water drops. Some of the higher and advanced versions even track swimming as an exercise. For this feature, you need to check the specs of your chosen smartwatch if this matters to you.
  5. Charging: Some smartwatches use wireless chargers, some use charging docks, whereas others use cables to charge. If this factor concerns you, then you should check the specs beforehand.
  6. Features: Check if the smartphone you love comes with most of the specific features you require in a device. If you need a watch that will help you with the fitness program, then buy a smartwatch with the right sensors, such as a heart-beat monitor, an accelerometer, a compass, a barometer, and other sensors that can keep track of such things as your step count, distance run, and so on. Most of the best smartwatches these days offer heart rate monitors and GPS trackers by default. However, since all of them not offer these features, it is always good to check the specific features you want before you purchase a smartwatch. This way, you won’t get unpleasantly surprised later.

Different Types of Smartwatches:

Smartwatches are generally of two types. Then, we have smartwatches that come with a specific purpose, such as Wear OS and Watch OS. Such watches are entirely dependent on your smartphones and are meant to work as a support device for your smartphone; basically, an extension that you can wear on your wrist.

Other than these, we have niche smartwatches that are only meant for a specific purpose that stands somewhere between the fitness trackers like the Fitbit, or a regular smartwatch.

Hiking Smartwatches are a really good example too, as they are meant for an extended travel trip in a remote area. These watches include features such as tracking for basic vitals, GPS, Weather Forecasting, and long battery life. They are also typically weather resistant, dust and waterproof, and have strong vibrations.

Another example is a diving smartwatch. You can connect your first-stage regulator to your diving smartwatch via Bluetooth. These come with features and indicators like temperature control, time remaining, and depth, etc.
